StorURL Mini is a companion to the popular desktop application, StorURL. This much simplified version of StorURL allows you to run a small window with a list of your bookmarks, while still allowing you to launch in any of your available browsers. To use this application, you will need to first set up your database in the full version of the software.

Some things that it does:

Load a standard StorURL 3.0 database
Dock to the left or right of the screen, similar to a Windows toolbar
Launch your bookmarks from any browser installed on the computer
Add URLs by dragging them from your browser

Note: This application is in beta. If you have any issues, please contact me and let me know so I can fix them.

How do I specify a different database file on launch?

Create a shortcut to StorURLMini.exe and pass in the database parameter:

StorURLMini.exe database="C:\path\to\your\database.sudb"

How do I dock the application like a Windows toolbar?

Create a shortcut to the StorURL.exe file and pass in the dock=left|right parameter.

How do I make StorURL Mini stay on top of all other windows?

Create a shortcut to the StorURLMini.exe file and pass in the topmost parameter.

Hi Ted,

This application is fairly portable, as long as you have the .NET 4.8 framework installed on any system. There is also a portable version of the full application, which is required to get this application up and running if you don't already have a StorURL database. You will just need to make sure you pass in the database path variable on startup. This can be a relative path, it does not require the full path, so it should work with a portable install. e.g. database=mydatabase.sudb in the same directory as StorURL Mini.

Could you consider creating a portable version of StorURL? I used to use URL Gather but no longer works well in Win10. It was nice to go to another computer plug in the USB stick and grab the site I am looking for. In IT it was a real charm.
